She is on a mission to educate and empower petite women. While hosting #petitechat, Debonita came up with the idea of launching Petite Fashion Week globally and now is running petite fashion networking events in London, Miami and Dallas at the same time.

I am a petite girl who is constantly struggling to find clothes and shoes that fit. I am on a quest for elegantly fashionable petite clothes and shoes that fit and flatter my petite frame. I am an ardent lover of fashion and beauty. I am a Digital Marketing Consultant for natural/organic beauty and fashion brands.I started blogging to express my passion and love for fashion. I want to make fashionable clothes and shoes more easily available for petite girls like me. Since May 2014 I have started blogging professionaly.

When did you get an idea to launch your own blog and how important is it for you be online?

I was struggling to find petite clothing for myself and so decided to start a blog to document my fashion journey and help other petite women. I started a year ago but had to pause blogging for few months to concentrate on Petite Fashion Week. It’s very important for me to be online for my blog and my consultancy business.

Did you have someone help you make the website or did you do it by yourself?

I have built my blog and petite fashion week website by myself. I know basic html and css which helped me customise my website.

UntitledThe right domain name is important. How long did it take you to come up with the domain name for your blog?

It took me actually 2 hours to come with a domain name that resonates my personality. I tried playing with few words that goes with my personality and the name Elegantly Fashionable came to my mind.

What kind of Theme do you use on your blog and what are the “must have” plugins for a blog?

I use elegant theme on my blog. The must have plugin for a blogger is a SEO plugin, if you are using WordPress it’s called Yoast. Seo is very important for bloggers, I get most of my traffic from organic search.

20140610-055114-pm-768x1024What CMS (Content Management System) do you use on your blog? How hard is it to navigate within your CMS (making a new post, inserting images, moderating comments, etc.)?

I used WordPress for my blog. It is very easy to navigate within WordPress. I would recommend using self hosted wordpress.orgto all bloggers.

How much time do you spend blogging?

I spending few hours Monday to Friday on my blog. Blogging takes up a lot of my time each day but I really enjoy it.

How do you promote your blog? Do you use social media channels to attract more visitors to your blog?

Blog promotion is very important to increase traffic.I use social media platforms to promote my blog primarily. I try to participate and host chats on twitter regularly.

Is there a way to monetize (make money) through a blog?

There are quite a few ways to monetize a blog including, advertising, sponsored posts, affiliate linking and events. Having good website traffic is key for success in monetisation.

I would definitely suggest other people to start blogging but be prepared to work very hard. It requires lot of hardwork and patience.

Please give us some advice for new bloggers and for people who are still not sure should they make a blog of their own?

Start blogging about things you are passionate about as it takes lot of hard work and time to establish a great blog. Always try post quality content as they say content is king. Be sure to be true to yourself and just have patience.
