Using the Media Manager

Video Transcription

Hi, this is Brad with, and in this video I’ll be introducing you to the “Media” management section of your WordPress blog, which is over here on the left hand side. If we click to go there you’ll see that it brings up the “Media library”. This is a great place to view all of your different images, any videos that you’ve uploaded and also manage your other types of files. You can see here that I have an about me image and a picture of sushi uploaded in my media library. You can also add new pieces of media in this section by going up to the top here and clicking on “Add new.”

From here you’ll be able to click on the “Select files” button to pull up a window and find files from your desktop. For example, if I wanted to upload a different head shot of me, I could find this one here and double click. What the media manager will do is automatically upload that file straight to my blog so I can use it in posts and pages. So if I click this little “Edit” link right here it’s going to show the details of the head shot that I just uploaded. You can do the same with videos and other type of files that you want to share with your visitors.
