Hey! I’m George and I write the plus size fashion and lingerie blog Fuller Figure Fuller Bust. My blog is now 4 years old and it’s been a crazy 4 years! In that time I’ve become a full time blogger, I have a clothing line, I’ve been on TV and in lots of papers and magazines and I’ve been flown to Milan and worked with top photographers. I have the most incredible, loyal, sweet readers who are the reason I am where I am and loving life.
Please tell us something about yourself. Is blogging your profession or just a hobby, how did it all started?
The blog and clothing line is now my full time job. It started as a hobby and a desire to help other women with similar busts and bodies to mine find lingerie and clothing, and soon I began to get sent items to review, work with brands and gradually it turned into something that earns me money!
When did you get an idea to launch your own blog and how important is it for you be online?
I got the idea after entering Curvy Kate’s ‘Star In A Bra’ and coming third. I wanted to give my opinion on pieces, show them from every angle and hopefully help others feel body happy!
Did you have someone help making the website or did you do it by yourself?
I recently employed Charlie Kirby to make my website for me. Prior to that I was using WordPress.
The right domain name is important. How long did it take you to come up with the domain name for your blog?
I came up with my blog name fairly speedily. I was quite inspired by the blogger ‘Thin and Curvy’ and I liked the idea of a name that succinctly described me.
I’m am forever on social media/trying to answer emails/comments/looking after the Lady Voluptuous site. I couldn’t even say how much time I spend as my life is my blog.
How do you promote your blog? Do you use social media channels to attract more visitors to your blog?
I live for social media! I try not to spam but of course I want people go click through and read my latest posts.
Is there a way to monetize (make money) through a blog?
Yup! Sponsored product reviews, advertising, working with brands, affiliate schemes – blogging is a great earner when you put the effort.
Would you encourage other people to make their own blogs?
Definitely! Just be honest, try to post regularly but don’t force it and have fun!
Try to pick a niche – copying someone else isn’t going to do you any favours. Be genuine. Think ahead and really consider whether the content you want to post is sensible and not something you could possible regret.
