Kristin is a Miami based blogger and voice of Living In Color Print – a fashion + lifestyle site.  Loving all things feminine and colorful, she provides daily inspiration to her readers and is a viable resource for style enthusiasts in search for current trends, outfit pairings and lifestyle tips. She has agreed to share her experience as a fashion blogger with FirstSiteGuide so the future bloggers could benefit from her tips on being online successfully.

Please tell us something about yourself. Is fashion blogging your profession or just a hobby?

I’m blessed to say it has been my profession in the last year and a half. In addition to blogging  I have also recently expanded my freelance PR and marketing business with the launch with Refine PR, a full service lifestyle firm.

When did you get an idea to launch your own blog and how important is it for you be online?

I launched Living in Color Print in February 2012 after an inspirational trip to New York City, while I was volunteering at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Ever since the launch of my brand,   I find being well represented all over the web and social media platforms is crucial to staying relevant.

Did you have someone help you make the website or did you do it by yourself?

I have worked with multiple talented graphic designers and web developers to help bring my vision to life on

The right domain name is important. How long did it take you to come up with the domain name for your blog?

It honestly took me about two and half hours, the time that it takes to fly from New York City to Miami. I was sitting on the plane brainstorming and flipping through magazines, looking for any kind of inspiration. As I took note of specific words or slogans that stuck out, the title Living in Color Print just clicked. I felt it was a saying that embodied not only my personal sense of style but also a way of life.

 How much time do you spend blogging?

I find myself working from sun up to sun down, so I don’t put a limit on how long  it takes me to curate good quality content.

 How do you promote your blog? Do you use social media channels  to attract more visitors to your blog?

Yes, social media platforms are key to cross promotion of blog content. Insuring  that your shares are done on a consistent basis will naturally lead to an increase in page views.

Is there a way to monetize (make money) through a blog?

Yes, there are a variety of ways to monetize your blog. Everything from advertising and affiliate linking to sponsored content, giveaways and event hosting, just to name a few. The opportunities to monetize your site are endless.

Stay true to your brand, have consistent content, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out  there and reach out to brands or contacts that may be beneficial to the growth of your site.
