Alexandra Pereira (Vigo, Spain, 1988) founded Lovely Pepa in 2009 as a virtual window to share her three passions: fashion, photography and travels. Three months after, she had more than 1000 visits daily and nowadays, five years later, hers is the most read fashion and style blog and it is one of the seven most influential blogs in the world.
In the last few years, Lovely Pepa has collaborated with some top-level brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Piaget, Tous, Casio… This way, Alexandra has set these brands closer to her followers with special actions. Lovely Pepa’s collaborations goal are originality and quality of these campaigns, taking them to a professional level but trying to make them natural and bring them closer to her readers.
Alexandra is the only Spanish blogger that has been nominated to the Best Fashion Blog in Bloglovin’ Awards (2012). In September 2013, she won the Most Influential International Blog Award in New York Fashion Week. She attends International Fashion Weeks as well.
Fashion blogging right now is my job, I dedicate almost my 100% time working on it.
When did you get an idea to launch your own blog and how important is it for you be online?
it was 5 years ago, and it was because I discovered fashion blogs world and I couldn’t imagine a better way to express my passion for fashion and creativity. Since so many years ago be online is super important for me, I used to have a photoblog account before my blog…and I always participated on Facebook etc.
Did you have someone help you make the website or did you do it by yourself?
I’m so lucky to have a great team working with me in Madrid, and of course I also have programmers for the design and maintenance of my site.
Actually it was really quick, because I was so sure to get a personal and special name for my blog, non related with fashion or style for example, I decided it the same night I opened Lovely Pepa.
What are the “must have” plugins for a blog?
I adore the new section My boutique, because I think it´s really useful for my readers since they can check my latest favourite products, and also the Looks section which is absolutely perfect and useful once again to check my old outfits in chronological order.
How much time do you spend blogging?
Writing and retouching my pictures, probably three or four hours every day.
Sure, I think social media channels are the best accessory for a blog.
Is there a way to monetize (make money) through a blog?
Absolutely, so many ways.
Would you encourage other people to make their own blogs?
For sure, my blog has given me tons of opportunities, the most important ones, just know a lot of people that otherwise wouldn’t have had a chance to meet and they’re everything for me right now.
Please give us some advice for new bloggers and for people who are still not sure if they need a blog of their own?
Just be yourself, try to do your best in every single post and be original 🙂
