Hi, this is Brad with Firstsiteguide.com, and in this video I would like to explain to you the differences between a post and a page within WordPress. They are quite similar but they do have key some differences that will be important for you to understand. Your blog content will be displayed in pages and posts. They’ll both have a handful of things that would be very similar, like the title or a headline, the content that you put in for them, and the ability to add video and image or some other type of rich media content.
However, pages are not generally a part of your main blog’s content. For example if you have a travel blog, you would write posts about latest travel. You would preserve pages for things that relate to you and your blog, such as a page about you, a page with a contact form, and so on. Your posts all are a part of your main blog’s content. They will show up as new entries within your blog and your RSS feed. The pages will only be displayed when you link to them directly and they wouldn’t show up within your RSS feed.
So if we go to the front of our blog, you will see that the blog posts are displayed on the front page here, and the pages are up here on the top, like About Me page or a Contact Us page.
I hope you find this quick video useful. For more videos and how-to guides, please visit us at Firstsiteguide.com. Take care.
